Electric Bicycle

laws, insurances, accidents and initiatives

Read a little about the following four topics, it can save you a lot of headache and money in the long run.

Laws

Before purchasing a new pair of electric bicycle, it is best to check what are the Electric Bicycle Laws in your place of residence.

Insurance

E-Bikes are not expensive as cars, not even close.

You are probably using all kind of protections against thefts. Even though, there is a change that your e-bike will be stolen.

If you want to have a more peace of mind when leaving your e-bike on the street and make sure that you won't loss you investment completely, you can insure your electric bike.

Enter this page to read about different ways to insure your e-bike.

Accidents

E-Bikes are, for most cases, faster then regular bicycles. As with everything, there is a good side and a bed side for this attribute.

Faster, means that you can keep up with the cars. When getting out of the light, you can accelerate at a rate which is pretty much equal to the acceleration rate of a car inside an urban zone and minimize the probability for an accident. This is the good side.

The bad side is that the e-bikes are prone to be involved in more accidents involving pedestrians. And as you go faster, this accidents could be more severe.

Cycle schemes

In the comparison page, there is a whole section devoted to price comparisons between e-bikes and other means of transportation. A harsh conclusion is that the overall price that you pay for using your e-bike is a joke when comparing it to a private car.

Nevertheless, non of us will reject discounts if they are being offered.

Many countries and regions around the world have schemes and incentives programs for promoting the use of electric vehicle in general and light electric vehicle (such as electric bicycle) in particular.
